Job summary

ScaleOps is seeking a Head of Legal in the US to own every legal matter, the first US legal hire, reporting to the VP of Finance. This high-ownership role will build a modern AI-driven legal function from the ground up and partner closely with GTM, Finance, and Executive teams.

You will manage day-to-day contracting (MSAs, NDAs, partner agreements), coach sales on redlines, and develop contract playbooks and self-serve tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in top-tier law firms and high-growth B2B SaaS or infrastructure.
• Extensive experience negotiating enterprise SaaS MSAs, DPAs, and complex contracts.
• Experience leading venture financings (Series B+) and at least one M&A transaction.
• Deep knowledge of US privacy and data protection law (GDPR, CCPA) and security requirements.
• AI-first mindset with proven implementation of AI tools in a legal function.
• Strong commercial judgment and business partner mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day contract lifecycle including MSAs, NDAs, and partner agreements.
• Lead live deals with Sales teams, redline turnaround, and coaching.
• Develop and improve contract playbooks, self-serve tooling, and fallback positions.
• Manage outside counsel across jurisdictions.
• Lead legal workstreams for financings and M&A.
• Oversee governance, equity administration, and board materials.
• Shape AI-native legal workflows and tool deployments.
