Job summary

Colby College is seeking a Senior Director of Leadership Giving & Donor Development to lead the leadership annual giving strategy and donor development across a portfolio of leadership-level donors and volunteers.

You will supervise and coach LAGOs & DXOs, translate strategy into operational plans, and partner across Advancement to strengthen donor participation, retention, and upgrade opportunities. This full-time role requires travel and a deep commitment to Colby’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• 7+ years of fundraising, donor development, or relationship management experience.
• Demonstrated success managing portfolios and advancing donor relationships.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing staff, including establishing metrics and accountability.
• Experience leading volunteers to achieve organizational goals.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee frontline fundraising leadership and manage the Annual Giving team.
• Lead, coach, and supervise staff including LAGOs and DXOs.
• Set goals, metrics, and performance standards for annual giving priorities.
• Conduct portfolio reviews and donor strategy sessions.
• Develop donor engagement and stewardship across leadership gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of leadership-level donors and volunteers.
• Coordinate donor movement with Major Giving and other teams.
• Operationalize fundraising priorities and ensure timely execution of plans.
