Job summary

Colby College seeks an Associate Director of Museum Development to broaden philanthropic engagement with the Colby Museum of Art. The role focuses on leadership gifts, sponsorships, and developing a robust Friends of Art program to support ongoing museum growth.

Reporting to the executive director, you will oversee donor research, stewardship, and fundraising communications, while collaborating with advancement teams to highlight the museum’s impact and mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of fundraising or related experience in higher education or museums.
  • Proven ability to organize programs, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects to increase leadership annual gifts ($2,500+).
  • Develop Friends of Art strategies and coordinate with museum and advancement teams.
  • Plan and participate in fundraising events and donor communications.
  • Collaborate on communications, newsletters, and stewardship materials.
  • Track progress toward annual giving goals and gift acknowledgments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and travel as needed.
