Job summary

Winixx Inc. is seeking a Head of Language Engineering to shape the .wnx language and its tooling. You will lead the compiler, runtime, and library teams, defining syntax, memory model, and type system while charting a multi-year roadmap toward a public 1.0 release.

This founding-team role requires a proven track record in language design and leadership, with strong communication and vision for a new programming language from the ground up.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a production language.
• Proven language design judgement balancing UX and implementation.
• Experience leading an engineering team on long-term technical efforts.
• Deep understanding of memory models (ARC, GC, ownership/borrow).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Diploma in CS, Programming Languages, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the core design of .wnx: syntax direction, memory model, type system.
• Document foundational language design decisions.
• Build and lead Language Engineering team across compiler frontend, runtime, standard library, and tooling.
• Set the multi-year roadmap toward a public 1.0 announced alongside WinixxOS.
• Own interop strategy between .wnx and Kotlin/Java-based SDK and AOSP APIs.
• Represent the language effort in executive leadership and cross-team planning.
• Recruit and evaluate senior compiler, runtime, and language tooling talent.
• Communicate language direction externally once the effort is ready to be shared with developers.
