Job summary

Carleton College is seeking a Director of IT Planning and Communication to guide web development and department-wide communications and project management processes. You will mentor the WebPAC team and partner with IT and Marketing to manage Carleton’s web presence.

Expected starting salary is $101,200–$104,600, with a fit to experience. This exempt, full-time role reports to the CTO and sits within ITS.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of full-time professional experience working in web technology.
• Two or more years of full-time professional leadership and supervisory experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication to translate complex tech for varied users.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management and change management for diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction and oversight for web development and infrastructure within ITS.
• Supervise and mentor the WebPAC team, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Ensure web standards compliance, accessibility, responsive design, and code validity.
• Translate community needs into web project requirements, plans, and timelines.
• Manage a portfolio of technology projects and report on status and prioritization.
• Collaborate with Marketing Communications on daily web operations and updates.
• Lead strategic direction for Carleton’s web presence and toolset with CTO/VP
• Co-lead campus-wide project management steering group and promote best practices.
