Job summary

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) in Illinois is seeking a Group Chief Information Officer (GCIO) to lead the Government & Public Employees group and shape statewide IT policy and strategy. This senior role oversees multiple agencies and drives enterprise-wide technology initiatives.

You will develop long- and short-term goals, allocate resources, and provide executive-level guidance to agency leaders, ensuring alignment with DoIT’s mission and public service objectives.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in MIS/IT/CS or related field.
• Four years of administrative IT experience in public or business settings.
• Four years supervising IT professionals in a large public or business organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as GCIO and policy-formulating official for the Government & Public Employees Group.
• Develop and implement long- and short-term IT policies aligned with DoIT's mission.
• Direct and coordinate IT services across state agencies and DoIT stakeholders.
