Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Director, Retrieval Operations – Inventory Strategy to translate client retrieval demand into actionable inventory plans across channels, capacity, and vendors. You will own forecasting, routing rules, and governance to optimize retrieval outcomes and costs.

The role partners with Operations, Call Center, Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Finance to build a scalable, data-driven inventory planning discipline that aligns with client commitments and daily production needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Eight+ years in operations, inventory planning, forecasting or capacity planning, with at least 3 years leading teams.
• Experience translating demand forecasts into actionable production and capacity plans in a multi-channel environment.
• Proven ability to identify risks, develop recovery plans, and influence decisions.
• Strong financial and analytical skills evaluating productivity, capacity, service, yield, and costs.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering on operational tech and AI-enabled workflows.
• Executive communication skills to convert analysis into clear recommendations.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, data-visualization, forecasting tools; SQL experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the inventory strategy and weekly/daily operating plans for Payer Retrieval.
• Establish forecasting, segmentation, prioritization based on client commitments and cost.
• Define routing rules for inventory across channels based on capacity and cost.
• Evaluate channel/partner performance to reduce delays and manual touches.
• Monitor performance against commitments and raise recovery plans for aging or blocked inventory.
• Use scenario planning to evaluate demand and capacity changes and provide data-backed recommendations.
• Coordinate with Workforce Management to align inventory with staffing and capacity plans.
• Support annual planning and budgeting by linking demand, availability, and financial targets.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards, and governance for inventory health and cost metrics.
• Deliver accurate reporting and translate data into executive insights in collaboration with BI/Analytics.
• Refine prioritization and routing logic with Product/Engineering and define success metrics.
• Coordinate with Call Center leadership on segmentation between human calls and Voice AI.
• Identify and prioritize automation opportunities to improve flow and reduce manual effort.
• Lead and develop the Inventory Strategy team and cross-functional partnerships.
