Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a Director of Internal Communications based in the United States. This role leads a collaborative team and works with senior executives to advance firm priorities, strengthen engagement, and bring the firm’s vision to life.

The Director will develop and execute a cohesive internal communications strategy, using technology to maximize output and ensure consistently excellent writing across channels and geographies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic communications.
• Experience working with C-suite or senior leaders in complex organizations.
• Demonstrated success managing communication strategies for large-scale changes.
• Background in journalism, writing, PR, marketing, executive communications, or corporate communications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage internal communications aligned with objectives and culture.
• Lead an internal communications team to engage staff with the firm's vision.
• Develop narratives, messaging frameworks, and campaigns for firm priorities.
• Advise partners and leaders on strategic communications planning and engagement.
• Align messaging across internal and external communications with PR/Marketing.
• Produce and distribute content across intranet, town halls, emails, video messages, and newsletters.
• Develop multi-format content—articles, scripts, videos, briefings, presentations.
• Establish metrics to monitor effectiveness and drive improvements.
• Use data-driven insights to refine strategies for maximum impact.
