Job summary

Rand Mutual Assurance in South Africa seeks an Executive leader for Integrated Disability Management to steer rehabilitation, disability management and pensioner welfare. You will design an integrated, person-centred model that maximises recovery, return-to-work and social protection while ensuring regulatory compliance and financial sustainability.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, shape policy, and build external partnerships with healthcare providers and regulators to advance IDM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and postgraduate qualification in relevant fields.
• 10–12 years in disability management, rehabilitation, social insurance or related fields.
• Minimum 7 years in senior or executive leadership roles.
• Experience with COID, workers’ compensation and public health systems.
• Experience in large-scale program design, transformation and stakeholder management.
• Integrated Disability Management models and international best practices.
• Strategic and systems-level thinking.
• Executive people leadership and organizational development.
• Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Financial, operational and performance management.
• Strong ethical judgement and governance orientation.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute an IDM strategy aligned with COIDA and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate rehabilitation, disability management and pensioner welfare into a cohesive service model.
• Lead end-to-end service delivery and governance across IDM sub-functions.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and digitization within IDM processes.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and build organizational capability in IDM.
