Job summary

Baxter is seeking an experienced Senior Director, R&D Platform Leader for Infusion Systems at our global headquarters in Illinois. You will lead all aspects of the R&D platform, ensuring quality, safety, and efficacy while working with regulatory, clinical, and manufacturing teams to drive end-to-end product success.

Lead a distributed team across multiple sites, shape the technology roadmap, and maintain strong partnerships to deliver patient-focused innovation and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive R&D leadership experience in medical devices.
• Proven track record leading complex product development programs across multiple sites.
• Deep understanding of medical device development and regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, design controls, risk management, quality systems).
• Strategic, customer-centric leadership with ability to influence across functions.
• Ability to translate market insights into innovation strategies and drive alignment.

Responsibilities

• Set the R&D vision and strategy for the Infusion Systems platform.
• Deliver innovation and product development results from concept through commercialization.
• Advance technology roadmaps and future capabilities.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with commercial, clinical, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and program management.
• Ensure operational excellence, compliance, and talent development.
