Pensacola State College seeks a Department Head, Humanities and Social Sciences, a 12-month administrative role with a Summer 2027 start. The incumbent will oversee daily department operations, faculty, budgets, curricula, and student advising, reporting to the Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree, SACS-COC teaching qualification in a qualifying discipline, four years of relevant experience, and a background check.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Four years of related full-time post-secondary teaching or administrative experience.
• A successful criminal background check is required and a Florida background check will be conducted.

• Manage day-to-day operations of the humanities and social sciences department.
• Supervise all programs, develop course schedules, and assign faculty courses.
• Advise students, review curricula, hire/supervise adjunct faculty, and oversee budgeting and planning.
