Job summary

The biotech venture client, partnered with Larson Maddox, is seeking a Head of HR to lead the people function across the organization and portfolio. This executive will shape programs, processes, and infrastructure to support growth and oversee talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR operations, and compliance.

The role combines strategic partnership with hands-on execution, guiding an evolving HR function and delivering impact across the company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple functions.
• Experience within biotechnology and/or venture capital is required.
• Working knowledge of the drug development lifecycle and R&D talent landscape in biotech/life sciences.
• Strong expertise across compensation, benefits, private-company equity administration, employee relations, talent acquisition, and multi-state employment compliance.
• Excellent project management, organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the firm's talent acquisition strategy and full-cycle recruiting across fund and operating company roles, including executive leadership, scientific, legal, finance, and corporate functions.
• Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and hiring managers, translating business needs into workforce plans, job specs, recruiting strategies, and candidate assessment processes.
• Oversee HR operations across a multi-state workforce and multiple legal entities, driving consistency, accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across the employee lifecycle.
• Manage complex equity compensation programs across multiple corporate entities, partnering with legal counsel and leadership on equity grant planning, vesting administration, and equity pool management.
• Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, internal communication, and organizational culture, with emphasis on collaboration and an engaging in-person employee experience.

This individual will lead the people function across the organization and broader portfolio, serving as a trusted strategic partner to senior leadership.
