Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics LLC is seeking an experienced Director of Transport Engineering to provide in-house engineering for heavy transport and lift solutions. You will evaluate, challenge, and refine methodologies, review technical drawings, and develop standards with cross-functional teams across Industrial Project Logistics.

The role emphasizes route feasibility, cargo securement, lift planning, risk assessment, and ongoing coaching to elevate technical competency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or transport engineering.
• 7–10 years in heavy haul, heavy lift, or transport engineering.
• Experience reviewing or developing transport drawings, route studies, rigging and lift plans.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with transport engineering software.
• Experience with carriers, crane or rigging firms, and field surveys.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for heavy haul, heavy lift, and specialized transport solutions.
• Review and validate technical proposals, rigging and lift plans, and route studies.
• Assess transport feasibility considering weight, CG, turning radius, and constraints.
• Support crane lift plan reviews and load chart analyses.
• Develop technical standards, checklists, and risk mitigation guidance.
• Travel domestically and internationally for site surveys and pre-job planning.
