Qualifikationen

• Minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience in health information management.
• Strong knowledge of medical records, release of information, ICD-10 coding (inpatient/outpatient).
• Regulatory standards knowledge and DRG assignments is required.

Aufgaben

• Direct the HIM department following regulatory standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records; control access to files.
• Monitor accuracy and maintenance of patient records; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Liaise with other hospital HIM departments and respond to inquiries.
• Monitor coding of discharged charts and abstract relevant patient data for state agencies.
• Coordinate revisions to medical records to meet TJC and state/federal laws.
• Lead committees, prepare administration reports and support data analysis for quality improvement.
• Promote ongoing staff development and adherence to AHIMA accreditation requirements.
• Identify educational needs and provide training for staff and professionals.
• Support guest relations and maintain professional communications across staff and stakeholders.
