Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Dataworks is seeking an early-stage growth marketer in San Francisco who can act as a builder rather than a traditional Head of Marketing. You will craft a repeatable growth engine by turning a strong product and storyline into pipeline, working closely with the founders, and prioritizing where marketing time and money go.
The role requires hands-on execution and a bias for action in an AI/developer tooling context.
$200,000-$250,000 Comp plus benefits and equity
I've just picked up a brilliant search for an early-stage marketer who wants a genuine blank canvas, but within a company that already has product-market fit, excellent ARR growth and an unbelievable team.
The company is a Series A AI startup in San Francisco, backed by Tier 1 investors and entering an important stage of growth.
They're now looking for someone to become the driving force behind how they turn a strong product, story, and growing market presence into a repeatable growth engine.
This isn't a traditional Head of Marketing role.
And it's definitely not one for someone who wants a big team and established playbook handed to them.
They want a builder.
Someone who's worked in an early-stage environment, figured out where growth is actually going to come from, tested ideas quickly, and then doubled down when something starts working.
You’ll be working incredibly closely with the founders and have the freedom to influence where marketing time and money gets spent.
There's a big emphasis on creating pipeline, but they're deliberately open-minded about how you get there.
The important thing is that you can come up with ideas and actually make them happen.
You don't need to be a Product Marketer, but you do need to understand how to market technical software. You'll have opinions on brand, understand what makes technical buyers pay attention, and be comfortable marketing to people like CTOs and engineering leaders.
Ideally, you've done some of this within AI, developer tooling, infrastructure, or another technical B2B SaaS environment.
Series A
It's one of those roles where the person joining today could look back in a couple of years and say:
“I built that.”
