Job summary
Forge is seeking a hands-on leader to build and scale our freight forwarding operations in New York. You will set up trade lanes, develop long-term relationships with ocean carriers, warehouses, and agents, and help grow the business in close partnership with the founders and engineering team.
As a key member reporting to the CEO and working alongside the CTO, you will wear multiple hats in a fast-paced startup and translate prototypes into durable production software while shaping our product

You’ll partner directly with our founders and engineers to drive the products we build.

- Continuously setup and optimize trade lanes
- Develop long term relationships with freight partners, including ocean carriers, warehouses, international agents, etc.
- Manage the buy‑side of the freight business
- Partner with our CTO to turn your prototypes into durable production software
- Report directly to the CEO
- Wear many hats. Early‑stage means we all do a bit of everything
- Experience with carrier negotiations
- Asia‑US lane experience
- Speak another language fluently
- Are a licensed customs broker (LCB)
- Founding‑level ownership over a core function of the business
- Small team, fast decisions, no bureaucracy
- Direct exposure to clients, partners, and how their businesses operate
- Build the playbook, then build the automation that replaces it
