Job summary

Fenwick & West seeks a Director of Financial Systems to lead strategy, implementation, and ongoing support of the Firm's financial systems, including Aderant Expert and related apps. You will manage a team, ensure security, performance, and reliability, and guide data integrations and reporting solutions.

You will own the budget and vendor relationships, drive the technology roadmap, and oversee cross‑functional projects, including office integrations and client base migrations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of financial systems experience within a law firm environment.
• 10+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is necessary.
• Advanced degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the Financial Systems staff, including contract staff, guiding approach and architecture.
• Develop and own the Firm's financial systems strategy and roadmap (Aderant Expert and other apps).
• Own the Financial Systems budget and vendor relationships; negotiate contracts.
• Lead emerging technology roadmap and evaluate/integrate newer tech to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort.
• Oversee security, data governance, and master data; ensure confidentiality standards.
• Direct design, development and support of reporting tools and dashboards; partner on data feed strategies.
• Ensure continuous operation, uptime and reliability of accounting systems; analyze issues.
• Own data feeds, APIs, and integrations with third-party platforms.
• Lead project management for system implementations, upgrades, migrations, testing, and documentation.
• Develop and deliver end-user training and documentation; work with IT Training.
• Translate business requirements into system solutions; participate in governance discussions.
• Support integration of new offices or acquired client bases into systems and reporting.
