Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to lead our external financial reporting function from the New York office. You will be the chief technical authority, architecting reporting architectures and definitive technical positions under US GAAP, in a high-growth tech environment.

You will own complex transactions, liaison with external auditors, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Legal to evaluate accounting implications of new features and business

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical accounting and reporting experience.
• Big 4 National Office, AAS, or SEC Practice background.
• Direct standard-setting fellowship or rotation (FASB/SEC).
• In-house leadership owning SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting at a public tech/fintech company.
• Deep US GAAP and SEC mastery (ASC 606, 718, 350-40).
• Clear, persuasive communication and ability to write executive memos and footnotes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and lead external financial reporting with disclosures and non-GAAP reconciliations.
• Lead research and documentation for ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 350-40, ASC 842, and related transactions.
• Establish and maintain Rippling’s Global Accounting Policy across entities and jurisdictions.
• Publish whitepapers translating accounting theory into practical business operations.
• Serve as liaison to external auditors on technical accounting matters and non-routine transactions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal on accounting implications of new features and structures.
• Co-design and enforce DC&P controls compliant with SOX 404.
• Mentor and grow a high-caliber technical accounting and reporting team.
