Job summary

Pease Bell in Akron, OH is seeking a Head of Financial Reporting to lead GAAP financial reporting, policies, forecasting and the annual audit. You will guide internal tax compliance, payroll taxes, and the evaluation of financial systems with AI-enabled automation.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage the accounting team, drive scalable infrastructure, and partner on financial strategy as the firm grows, maintaining strong controls and timely close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years accounting/finance experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and internal controls.
• Audit experience with external or internal audit.
• Experience using automation, systems, or AI to improve processes.
• Experience in a private equity-backed environment, including M&A, helpful.
• Familiarity with payroll tax compliance and multi-jurisdiction registrations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; able to partner with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own GAAP financial statements and policies; maintain integrity.
• Own annual audit process end-to-end with external auditors.
• Lead M&A financial integrations and purchase price accounting.
• Maintain and improve financial systems with automation/AI.
• Oversee internal tax compliance including payroll taxes and registrations.
• Directly supervise accounting department and report to the CFO.
