About the Company
Our client is a design-driven fine goods brand with a global footprint, selling through flagship retail, wholesale partners, and e-commerce across North America, Europe, and Asia. The brand is known for exceptional craftsmanship and a loyal, discerning customer base. As the business continues to scale internationally, they are building out a lean, high-impact finance function and are looking for a hands-on FP&A leader to partner directly with the CFO.
The Role
This is a highly visible, builder-minded role reporting directly to the CFO. You will own the planning, forecasting, and reporting engine for the business while also rolling up your sleeves on the models and data yourself. The title and scope are flexible based on experience: a seasoned candidate will step in as Head of FP&A, while a strong Senior Analyst ready for more ownership will have a clear path to grow into the role.
The right person is technically sharp, comfortable working in the details, and confident translating numbers into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with the CFO on strategic planning, budgeting, and long-range forecasting
- Own the annual budget and rolling forecast process across channels, regions, and product categories
- Build and maintain financial models from the ground up, including P&L, cash flow, and scenario analysis
- Lead monthly variance analysis and deliver clear, concise reporting to the CFO and executive team
- Analyze performance by channel (retail, wholesale, e-commerce), region, SKU, and collection to surface margin and growth opportunities
- Support inventory planning, gross margin analysis, and pricing decisions in partnership with operations and merchandising
- Model FX impact and multi-currency results across international entities
- Evaluate new initiatives such as store openings, market expansion, and capital investments with ROI and payback analysis
- Improve and automate FP&A processes, dashboards, and tools as the business scales
- Prepare materials for board meetings, lender updates, and investor discussions as needed
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to department heads on budgets and performance
What You Bring
- 5 years of FP&A experience for Senior Analyst level; 8 years for Head of FP&A level
- Background in consumer products, luxury, fashion, retail, or a multi-channel brand strongly preferred
- Experience supporting a business with international operations, multiple entities, and multi-currency reporting
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; you build models others rely on
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
- Exposure to FP&A or planning software (Adaptive, Anaplan, Pigment, Planful, or similar) is a plus
- SQL, Python, or automation experience is a strong plus
- Comfortable working directly with a CFO and presenting to senior leadership
- Strong understanding of retail and wholesale metrics, inventory, and gross margin drivers
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA a plus
- Thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment where you are both strategist and doer
Why This Role
- Direct line to the CFO and real influence on how a global brand grows
- Opportunity to build and shape the FP&A function, not just maintain it
- Work with a brand known for craftsmanship, design, and quality
- Competitive compensation, bonus, and benefits
