Overview

We are delighted to be partnering with a global, publicly listed manufacturing group to appoint a Head of Finance for one of its most strategically significant North American production facilities. This is a critical and highly visible leadership role ideal for a finance leader who enjoys being close to operations and thrives on driving transformation and performance improvement. The successful candidate will join the site’s senior leadership team, acting as both its financial lead and a true business partner to the Plant Director. You will help shape and deliver operational strategy, improve margins and throughput, and bring rigor and commercial insight to decision-making on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial operations at the site, including planning, forecasting, reporting, compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the Site GM and leadership team, contributing to commercial and operational decision-making.
• Deliver financial insight to identify cost reduction opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and optimise production performance.
• Own the standard costing process, ensuring robust cost accounting, accurate inventory valuation, and insightful margin analysis.
• Lead, mentor and develop the on-site finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and development.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting in alignment with corporate finance and external regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile

• We are seeking a commercially minded, operationally focused finance leader with a strong grounding in manufacturing finance.
• Significant experience in a senior finance role (FD, Head of Finance, VP Finance, or equivalent) within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Deep understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, and product margin analysis.
• Proven ability to partner with operational teams and drive tangible performance improvements.
• Hands-on leadership style with a pragmatic, results-oriented approach.
• Track record of building and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Experience with ERP systems and strong financial systems acumen.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS, and internal control frameworks.
