Job summary

Tennessee Donor Services is seeking a strategic Director of Family Care to lead the organization’s family care and authorization strategy, ensuring compassionate donor-family service while maximizing donation opportunities.

The role oversees day-to-day management, aligns clinical and operations, and partners with hospital services, medical directors, and transplant partners to improve authorization outcomes across Tennessee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in related field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through significant organizational change.
• Proven ability to improve performance through data-driven decision-making.
• Strong understanding of organ and tissue donation, authorization, and donor-family care.
• 3-5 years OPO experience in authorization, leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic and operational leadership for Family Care, ensuring department priorities, resources, and practices support the mission.
• Establishes clear performance expectations and accountability for authorization and family care.
• Analyzes performance data and case trends to identify improvement opportunities and barriers.
• Develops action plans to improve authorization performance and maximize donation opportunities.
• Builds a high-performing team and fosters a culture of trust and accountability.
• Partners with Clinical Operations, Hospital Services, Medical Directors and transplant partners to align strategy.
