Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Maintenance Director to plan, direct and control maintenance of the community's physical plant. The role oversees electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration and adherence to life-safety codes, with a 24/7 on-call requirement.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $30-$35 and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), PTO and more.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ supervisor experience with varied skills.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and maintenance.
• Senior living or hospitality maintenance experience desired.
• Ability to manage staff, schedule work orders and uphold safety standards.
• Willingness to be on call; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assure preventative maintenance schedules.
• Inspect common areas daily for maintenance needs.
• Supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff.
• Prepare work schedules and manage work orders.
• Inspect total property systems; maintain repair records.
• Lead safety initiatives and respond to emergencies.
