Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian seeks a visionary leader to serve as Vice President of Laboratory Operations, guiding Enterprise Laboratory Services across the system. The role drives strategy, budget management, and performance improvement while integrating clinical, operational, and financial functions to support patient care.

The VP will partner with senior leadership, hospital sites, and clinical chairs to execute system-wide laboratory initiatives, ensure quality, compliance, and cost efficiency, and

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive experience in leading a clinical department.
• 3+ years in a Director role.
• Experience in health care systems and multi-site care organizations.
• Ability to exercise discretion with significant decision impact.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and manages administrative activities of lab areas to ensure efficient operation.
• Evaluates, formulates, and implements administrative systems for cost-effective management.
• Maintains effective communication with administration, department heads, staff, and external agencies.
• Oversees enterprise laboratories’ activities with hospital services and departments.
• Analyzes data on labs, volume, budget, and process improvements for Senior Leadership.
• Leads standardization and quality control across the enterprise laboratories.
• Manages safety standards, regulatory compliance, and capital budgets.
• Partner with site Laboratory Directors on budgets and resource allocation.
• Participates in hiring, training, evaluation, and staff management.
