Job summary

Boise State University seeks a Deputy Director of Event Security Operations to provide strategic and administrative leadership for the university’s event security program across venues and campus events.

The role oversees Associate Directors, ensures planning standards, sustainable staffing models, and sound fiscal management while maintaining readiness for a growing event portfolio. Evening/weekend work may be required to align with the university’s schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 7 years experience, including 3 years managerial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and administrative leadership for the university’s enterprise event security program across all campus venues and event types.
  • Directly supervise Associate Directors and maintain oversight of the full event security chain of command, including hiring recommendations and performance management.
  • Recommend event security policies and approve operational procedures to ensure compliance with university requirements and laws.
  • Manage the event security operational budget with Director oversight and oversee third-party security services.
  • Lead long-term strategic planning for the event security program and scalability to meet campus priorities.
  • Serve as primary Incident Commander for medium-scale events and coordinate with public safety agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate with campus partners, Athletics stakeholders, and law enforcement agencies for integrated planning and crisis management.
  • Engage in departmental problem-solving, training programs, and continuous improvement of planning processes.
