Jobbeschreibung

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Enterprise Business Development based in the United States.

As Head of Enterprise Business Development, you will drive strategic growth by expanding partnerships with some of the largest veterinary organizations in the country.

You will build trusted relationships with senior executives and operational leaders, identifying opportunities to increase platform adoption and deliver measurable business value.

This senior, hands‑on individual contributor role combines strategic relationship management with direct ownership of complex enterprise sales cycles and ambitious revenue targets.

You will lead opportunities from initial discovery through product evaluations, negotiations, and contract close, aligning stakeholders around compelling business solutions.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Customer Success teams, you will help shape solutions that address evolving customer needs.

You will also influence product strategy, strengthen enterprise sales processes, and contribute to the long‑term success of partnerships across a growing technology ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of veterinary care through innovative software and customer‑focused business development.

Accountabilities
  • Develop strategic enterprise relationships: Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive leaders, operational teams, and key decision‑makers at major veterinary organizations. Conduct regular in‑person customer meetings and practice visits to understand business priorities, workflows, and operational challenges.
  • Drive enterprise growth: Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships, increase adoption across multiple technology platforms, introduce new solutions, and generate incremental revenue.
  • Own the full sales cycle: Manage enterprise opportunities from discovery and qualification through business case development, product evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution, taking direct responsibility for individual revenue targets.
  • Lead complex buying processes: Coordinate product demonstrations, technical reviews, formal RFPs, and competitive evaluations. Build internal champions and align executive, operational, financial, and technical stakeholders around a clear decision‑making process.
  • Manage strategic account health: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer sentiment, leadership changes, emerging challenges, upcoming initiatives, and potential relationship risks. Proactively address concerns and identify opportunities before they become formal requests.
  • Own enterprise CRM and pipeline management: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records across all relevant platforms, including opportunities, forecasts, relationship risks, and next steps. Lead regular pipeline reviews, reinforce accountability, and provide executive leadership with clear updates and actionable recommendations.
  • Influence product development: Translate customer feedback, business requirements, and technical needs into actionable insights for Product, Engineering, and company leadership. Identify integration requirements and other critical capabilities early enough to inform product priorities and strengthen enterprise proposals.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional execution: Partner with platform leaders and internal teams to develop compelling proposals, prepare customer meetings, communicate product capabilities accurately, and ensure that commercial commitments are realistic and achievable.
  • Support long‑term customer success: Collaborate with Implementation and Customer Success teams to maintain alignment on customer objectives and agreed commitments. Remain actively involved in strategic relationships to support successful adoption, retention, and future expansion.
  • Build scalable business development practices: Identify successful approaches and translate them into repeatable messaging, processes, and playbooks that improve enterprise engagement, decision‑making, and revenue generation.
Requirements
  • Extensive enterprise sales experience: At least seven years of experience in enterprise B2B software sales or business development, with a proven track record of personally closing significant deals and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strategic account development expertise: Demonstrated success building strong enterprise relationships and converting them into substantial new business, including expanding existing partnerships and introducing additional products or services.
  • Complex sales cycle management: Experience leading competitive software evaluations involving formal RFPs, cross‑functional buying committees, multiple approval levels, and diverse stakeholder requirements.
  • Executive‑level communication: Ability to establish credibility with senior executives while building productive relationships with frontline teams and operational decision‑makers.
  • Strong commercial skills: Excellent discovery, presentation, negotiation, and closing capabilities, including the ability to develop persuasive business cases that demonstrate measurable value and support significant operational change.
  • Proactive relationship management: Ability to anticipate customer needs, recognize relationship risks early, identify emerging opportunities, and maintain consistent engagement throughout the partnership lifecycle.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Experience working effectively with Product, Engineering, Implementation, Customer Success, and other internal teams to address customer requirements and communicate technical capabilities and commitments accurately.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: A self‑directed, resourceful approach to identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and driving progress independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Exceptional organization and execution: Strong preparation, responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow‑through, with the ability to manage complex opportunities and ensure that commitments and next steps are completed.
  • CRM and forecasting expertise: Experience owning an enterprise sales pipeline, maintaining high‑quality CRM data, leading pipeline reviews, and presenting clear forecasts, opportunities, and risks to executive leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to synthesize complex customer needs into clear recommendations, proposals, and strategic plans.
  • Willingness to travel: Comfortable traveling regularly for customer meetings, veterinary practice visits, and industry events.
  • Interest in veterinary technology: A genuine interest in improving veterinary care through technology. Previous veterinary industry experience is welcome but not required, provided you are motivated to develop a deep understanding of the industry.
  • U.S. work eligibility: Ability to work remotely from within the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Retirement savings: Automatic employer contributions to a 401(k) plan.
  • Equity opportunities: The opportunity to participate in company equity programs and share in long‑term growth.
  • Home office support: Assistance with setting up a comfortable and productive home workspace.
  • Flexible paid time off: Open vacation policy to support work‑life balance and personal needs.
  • Company retreats: Biannual company‑wide retreats to strengthen collaboration and relationships across the team.
  • Team engagement: Regular monthly team events that encourage connection, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
