Job summary

Peraton in San Diego seeks a Technology Manager (Architecture) to lead enterprise architecture, technology strategy, and delivery for public-sector initiatives. You will oversee a team of architects and subject matter experts, collaborating with the chief technology and security officers to drive enterprise architecture strategy and security alignment.

The role requires hands-on cloud, cybersecurity, AI/automation, and large-scale modernization experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise architecture, solution design, and technology strategy across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security.
• 3+ years managing technical teams with mentoring experience.
• Industry certification in IT Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture, microservices, API-led connectivity, and platform-based architecture methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, delivering on time and on budget.
• Ability to deliver executive-ready briefings, architectural reviews, and decision-support artifacts.
• Financial management experience including budget planning and analytics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• On-site/hybrid work capability within San Diego County and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the architecture team, setting priorities and ensuring high performance.
• Partner with CTO and CISO to develop enterprise architecture strategy and roadmaps.
• Translate business objectives into scalable, secure architectural designs.
• Review deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with cloud-native, API-led, and microservices patterns.
• Participate in governance, document decisions, and establish guardrails for automation and AI workflows.
• Guide technology selection across cloud providers, databases, and AI/ML ecosystems.
• Provide architectural oversight across IT projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Engage stakeholders with executive-ready briefings and decision-support artifacts.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to implement zero-trust principles and NIST-aligned controls.
