Job summary

New York Life Insurance Co. seeks a strategic Head of Enterprise Architecture to guide technology strategy across diverse insurance, investments, and benefits offerings.

You will lead the EA community, promote reusable patterns, and ensure governance balances agility and delivery speed across business units. You will collaborate with business and IT leaders, shape roadmaps for emerging tech, and mentor architects to advance architectural thinking while driving cost efficiency and scalable

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
• Experience operating in SAFe Agile and Scrum frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT and business.
• Develop business cases and total cost of ownership models for technology investments.
• Understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technology evangelist promoting advanced technologies such as Cloud, DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, GenAI, AgenticAI, and Quantum Computing.
• Establishes and maintains architecture community with workshops to drive reuse and faster delivery.
• Promote secure-by-design solutions and best practices for protecting data.
• Promote the EA Application Portfolio Platform (LeanIX) and improve service definitions for the broader tech org.
• Facilitate alignment between business and IT across the democratized IT landscape through strong communication.
• Engage business and IT stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships.
• Analyze trends and disruptions and assess their impact on business outcomes.
• Coach and mentor other architects, product owners/managers and business stakeholders.
