Job summary

Lightning Rod Labs trains AI to predict the future with automated, high-signal supervision for grounded training data. We convert messy, timestamped history into scalable training data and demonstrate success across finance and supply chain forecasting.

You will build the platform to eliminate the data bottleneck, enabling engineers to generate high-quality training data from diverse sources and teach AI real-world reasoning at scale.

Qualifications

• Excellent Python chops; comfortable with TypeScript and Next.js.
• Proven track record shipping systems that matter.
• Engineering leadership: led teams, set technical direction, and made tradeoffs.
• People management: hiring, setting expectations, evaluating performance, giving feedback.
• Execution discipline: improve team velocity and delivery with lean processes.
• Quality + reliability: built systems with low bugs and manageable tech debt.
• Built for scale: designed systems handling high job throughput and reliability.
• Data pipelines: experience with large datasets and orchestration tools.
• Experience building APIs and SDKs that developers want to use.
• Cloud fluency across GCP, Azure, AWS, and Modal.

Responsibilities

• Build the platform for prediction agents. Own the infrastructure for training and serving prediction agents.
• Scale the data generation engine. Build pipelines turning messy data into signals for training and evaluation.
• Own the platform & SDK. Improve the developer experience for enterprises generating custom training data.
• Make it production-grade. Set up engineering systems that maintain quality and reliability as we scale.
• Build the team. Hire, manage, and grow engineers as we scale.
