Job summary

Stealth, a technology-driven wealth management company, is seeking a Head of Engineering to own the technical organization, shape architecture and roadmap, and ship alongside a core team. You will work directly with founders to define a durable technical strategy and drive the build at scale.

Based in New York City preferred, with consideration for other major hubs. The role blends hands-on coding with leadership, balancing speed and reliability in AI-enabled financial systems and data

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in large-scale systems and distributed architectures.
• Ability to write and review production-grade code.
• Experience with databases, APIs, data pipelines, and production software.
• Interest in AI/ML and willingness to take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering function end-to-end: architecture, infrastructure, development, deployment, reliability, security, and technical standards.
• Translate an ambitious product vision into a durable technical roadmap.
• Make difficult architectural decisions across AI, financial data, and external integrations.
• Lead a small, high-capability engineering team and establish culture, processes, and standards.
• Balance speed and rigor in systems that operate within financial workflows.
• Collaborate with product, research, and customers to determine what should be built and how it should work.
• Recruit and develop exceptional engineers as the company grows.
• Diagnose problems, establish root causes, and implement preventive measures.
• Shape the broader technical strategy, including integration of AI models in production software.
