Job summary

Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory in University Park, PA seeks a Department Head to lead the Embedded Software division for undersea and autonomous systems. You will set technical vision, mentor staff, and ensure alignment with DoD and Navy priorities.

This leadership role requires proven management of multi-disciplinary teams, strong C/C++ embedded experience, and the ability to drive research, development, and proposals while maintaining high software engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Guide architecture, design, development, integration, and testing of embedded software and firmware.
