Job summary

The Hill Events is seeking a seasoned Director, Editorial Programming to lead content strategy and editorial execution for premier events and Summits. Reporting to the Vice President of Events, this role shapes bipartisan content, drives speaker acquisitions, mentors talent, and oversees the main stage experience.

• 10+ years in live events, media production, journalism, or policy/advocacy event programming.
• Established Rolodex of political, corporate, and media figures.
• Strong bipartisan reporting and editorial leadership.
• Ability to mentor junior editorial staff.
• Exceptional leadership and project management.

Responsibilities

• Develop bipartisan content plans with top-tier speaker and moderator suggestions.
• Coach and train moderators for events.
• Design engaging agendas and formats for programs.
• Lead speaker acquisitions for The Hill's Summits calendar.
• Oversee editorial operations of the Manager, Editorial Programming.
• Collaborate with newsroom and production teams.
• Coordinate with Video & Social Team to publish event highlights.
• Ensure accurate speaker and theme publishing on event websites.
• Write audience invitation copy.
• Oversee main stage program flow and VIP handling.
