The Hill Events seeks a seasoned Director, Editorial Programming to lead content strategy and editorial execution for its premier events and Summits calendar in Washington, DC.

Reporting to the Vice President of Events, this role blends media, live programming, and editorial excellence, overseeing speaker acquisitions, moderator training, and a balanced, bipartisan approach to coverage across The Hill's events calendar.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in live events, media production, journalism, or policy/advocacy event programming.
• Established network (rolodex) of high-profile political, corporate, and media figures.
• Strong knowledge of national politics, policy, and balanced bipartisan reporting.
• Proven leadership, communication, and project management with mentoring experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-visibility media environment with tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Build comprehensive content plans that are bipartisan and provide top-tier speaker and moderator suggestions.
• Cultivate an extensive roster of moderators and train them for events.
• Design engaging program timing and agendas with innovative formats.
• Lead major guest booking and expand the editorial network for Summits.
• Oversee editorial operations of the Manager, Editorial Programming.
• Foster partnerships with editorial leadership and senior staff bookers.
• Coordinate with Video & Social and Event Marketing to publish speakers and themes.
• Write audience invitation copy highlighting topics and speakers.
• Oversee live main stage flow, timing, VIP handling, and production direction.
