Job summary

The Hill Events is seeking a seasoned Director, Editorial Programming to lead the content strategy and editorial execution for our premier events calendar in Washington, DC. You will oversee speaker acquisitions, mentor editorial talent, and maintain strong relationships across newsroom and external networks.

Reporting to the Vice President of Events, the role blends media, live programming and editorial excellence, ensuring bipartisan, high-impact programming for our Summits calendar.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in live events, media production, journalism, or policy/advocacy event programming.
• Established rolodex of political, corporate and media figures.
• Strong editorial judgment with bipartisan reporting.
• Leadership, communication and project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Build bipartisan content plans with top-tier speaker and moderator suggestions.
• Cultivate and coach moderators for events and summits.
• Design engaging program timing and event agendas.
• Lead senior guest booking for The Hill’s Summits calendar and expand relationships with editorial leadership.
• Oversee editorial operations for the Manager, Editorial Programming to ensure a seamless experience.
• Collaborate with newsroom, video/social teams and event marketing for timely speaker publishing.
