Job summary

Performance Team in the United States is seeking a seasoned distribution operations leader to direct and oversee the operational functions of a distribution facility, ensuring quality, productivity, safety, and timely service.

You will evaluate systems, drive continuous improvement, manage the facility P&L, and collaborate with port management and customers to meet KPI targets while leading a team of 5+ supervisors and 200+ associates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 7–15 years in fast-paced transportation and warehousing.
• Experience in managing transportation and warehousing operations.
• Experience in a 3PL environment supporting multiple customers or lines of business is helpful.
• Experience in transportation management, pick-up and delivery, dray, etc.
• Experience working with drayage drivers and services.
• Experience negotiating with customers and managing contracts.
• Experience implementing and managing KPIs and holding teams accountable.
• Strong financial, analytical and P&L experience.
• Familiarity with Lean techniques and continuous improvement.
• Experience with WMS/TMS/YMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains operations plans, standards, and costs to meet customer requirements and goals.
• Oversees verification of shipments, disposition of materials, and inventory accuracy.
• Reviews reports and resolves operational/maintenance problems to minimize costs.
• Manages facility P&L and controls expenses.
• Collaborates with port management to facilitate drayage services.
• Performs administrative tasks and communicates with customers and other functions.
• Trains staff and enforces policies and safety regulations.
• Leads continuous improvement and lean initiatives to boost productivity and accuracy.
