Job summary

Iceberg, a world-leading hedge fund in New York, seeks an experienced cyber security leader to take a player-coach role with a 70/30 split between leadership and hands-on work to own detection and response across the organisation.

The role requires deep expertise in threat hunting, incident response, forensics, threat intelligence, and monitoring program development, with the ability to partner with compliance and governance while maintaining operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Experience leading high-severity incidents with clear judgment and communication.
• Proven depth in threat hunting, detection engineering, IR, forensics, and threat intel.
• Experience building or running monitoring/detection programs and improving signal quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response, threat hunting, detection engineering, and forensics across the organisation.
• Build and advance internal monitoring and auditing frameworks.
• Develop and execute a vision for where the SecOps program goes next.
• Act as a senior escalation point during incidents, communicating with leadership and stakeholders.
• Drive pragmatic adoption of AI-enabled approaches in detection/response (build vs buy, risks and controls).
