Job summary

Profound in New York is seeking a Head of Design to shape the entire product experience. You report to the CTO and collaborate with the founders and leadership team to embed design as a central voice in product decisions.

You will lead craft, strategy and people, building a design system and AI-enabled experiences while guiding a growing team. This on-site role is based at Union Square in NYC with visa sponsorship for international candidates.

• Shaped product direction and influenced company-level strategy.
• Hired and developed designers, improving an inherited team.

Responsibilities

• Set the design vision and a consistent product design language across the platform.
• Shape product strategy with founders and engineering leaders on what to build and why.
• Lead and grow the design team, building culture of high standards and ownership.
• Remain hands-on with craft: design, prototyping, and interaction work in Figma or code.
• Define AI-native experiences and interaction patterns for software acting on users' behalf.
• Move fast without sacrificing quality by establishing principles and rituals for rapid prototyping and customer learning.
• Stay close to customers through research and data to solve real problems.
