Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise Data Management strategy and roadmap.
• Lead and scale global teams across Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, Master Data, and related capabilities.
• Establish enterprise-wide frameworks, policies, standards, ownership models, and controls for critical data.
• Drive improvements in data quality, consistency, lineage, accessibility, and trust.
• Develop and mature Master Data Management capabilities across complex domains.
• Establish clear data ownership and stewardship models across business and technology functions.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Architecture to embed data principles in modern platforms.
• Support modernization of legacy data environments and cloud-based capabilities.
• Enable trusted data foundations for AI, ML, analytics, reporting, and automation.
• Partner with leaders across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and customer operations.
• Establish KPIs around data quality, governance adoption, platform effectiveness, and value.
• Build an enterprise data culture treating data as a strategic asset.
• Shape long-term operating model, structure, and investment roadmap for Data Management.

We are partnering with a Fortune 250 global organisation in the Food & Beverage / Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector to appoint a Head of Data Management.

This is a senior, enterprise-level leadership opportunity responsible for defining and executing how data is managed, governed, structured, and leveraged across a highly complex global organisation.

Operating at significant scale across manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, customer, finance, and corporate functions, the successful leader will play a critical role in building the data management capabilities required to support the organisation's continued digital, analytics, and AI transformation.

The Role

The Head of Data Management will own the strategy and operating model for enterprise data management, ensuring critical data is trusted, accessible, governed, secure, and fit for purpose across the organisation.

You will work closely with senior leaders across Data & Analytics, Technology, AI, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, and other business functions to establish a consistent enterprise approach to managing data.

This is not simply a governance position. We are looking for a leader who can combine enterprise strategy, transformation, technology, and execution while building and leading high-performing global teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise Data Management strategy and roadmap
• Lead and scale global teams across Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, Master Data, and related capabilities
• Establish enterprise-wide frameworks, policies, standards, ownership models, and controls for critical data
• Drive improvements in data quality, consistency, lineage, accessibility, and trust
• Develop and mature Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities across complex business domains
• Establish clear data ownership and stewardship models across business and technology functions
• Partner with Data Engineering and Architecture teams to ensure data management principles are embedded within modern data platforms
• Support the modernisation of legacy data environments and adoption of scalable cloud-based data capabilities
• Enable trusted data foundations for AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, reporting, and automation
• Partner with business leaders across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, commercial, finance, and customer operations
• Establish measurable KPIs around data quality, governance adoption, platform effectiveness, and business value
• Build an enterprise data culture where data is treated as a strategic business asset
• Shape the long-term operating model, organisational structure, and investment roadmap for Data Management

What We're Looking For

• Significant leadership experience within enterprise Data Management, Data Governance, Data Strategy, MDM, or Data & Analytics
• Experience operating within a large, complex, global enterprise
• Proven experience building or transforming enterprise-wide data management capabilities
• Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, MDM, and data ownership/stewardship
• Experience working alongside modern cloud and enterprise data platforms
• Strong understanding of how high-quality, governed data supports AI and advanced analytics
• Experience leading sizeable, multi-functional and geographically distributed teams
• Ability to operate effectively with C-suite and senior business/technology leadership
• Track record of translating data strategy into measurable business outcomes
• Experience within Food & Beverage, CPG, Manufacturing, Retail, Supply Chain, or similarly complex industries would be advantageous, but is not essential
