At Atlassian, we seek an Engineering Leader for the Data Engineering team to own data governance and enterprise context, enabling trusted, AI-ready data across the company. You will manage policy, ownership, stewardship, classification, and quality while shaping the catalog, metadata, and lineage strategy.

You will drive data contracts, governance as code, and strive for AI readiness that gates data used by models and agents, collaborating with Legal, Privacy, Security, and Compliance teams.

Qualificações

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform, or data management with governance focus.
• 8+ years of experience leading data engineering teams including principal architects.
• Experience standing up or scaling an enterprise data catalog or metadata platform.
• Experience owning a data governance operating model end to end (policy, ownership, stewardship, quality).
• Experience building a semantic layer or knowledge graph for machine consumption.

Responsabilidades

• Own the enterprise data governance operating model and policy.
• Shape the technical strategy for the data catalog, metadata, and lineage platform.
• Expose enterprise context programmatically for agents and applications.
• Shift governance left into data contracts and policy-as-code.
• Drive adoption of data governance across a federated organization.
