Job summary

At Atlassian, a versatile senior analytics engineer role focuses on aligning data across enterprise GTM and finance. You will design robust data pipelines and an AI context layer to enable safe AI interactions, building data products and scalable analytics across teams.

You will collaborate with finance, data engineering, and cross-functional partners to ensure data quality and enable accurate financial close, while advancing the data stack with best practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, BI, or similar field.
• Expert level proficiency with SQL and data modeling for scalable architectures.
• Proficient in a quantitative programming language, preferably Python.
• Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Looker; enable self-service analytics.
• Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce or Hubspot and ERP systems like Oracle or Netsuite.
• Understand AI-enabled analytics practices and avoid brittle systems.
• Able to structure complex problems from framing to delivery with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for analytical workflows.
• Lead development of data products and AI context layer to scale analytics.
• Create canonical datasets with high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines, data lake and warehousing.
• Partner with finance and data teams to track data inconsistencies affecting close.
• Perform sizing analyses for data infrastructure changes and QA on data quality.
• Develop SME-level knowledge for core system data transformations through cycles.
• Use tools to find efficiencies and reduce manual processes in data access.
• Investigate bugs with BAs and data engineers; perform UAT/QA on releases.
