Job summary

Metric DCX in Houston is seeking a VP of Operations to oversee data center construction projects across the full lifecycle, from preconstruction through commissioning. You will lead project delivery, manage client relationships, and guide multiple site teams, ensuring on-time and on-budget results.

The role requires 15-20+ years in data center construction/operations, experience with large-scale programs, and strong leadership with effective communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• 15-20+ years of experience in construction and operations, with a focus on mission-critical or data center projects.
• Experience with a general contractor or owner/operator responsible for large-scale delivery.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
• Proven leadership to mentor multiple project teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for data center projects across full lifecycle.
• Guide project managers, superintendents, and field teams for consistency and quality across scopes.
• Lead coordination with design partners, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company processes.
• Identify and resolve escalated issues while driving continuous improvement in execution.
