Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. seeks a Senior Director, Data and AI Engineering to lead the strategy and execution of data and AI across the R&D value chain.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team of data engineers, AI/ML specialists, and support staff, delivering robust, compliant data foundations and Gen AI solutions. You will drive scalable architectures for structured and unstructured data, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with IT and external teams to accelerate

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in data engineering, AI/ML, and Gen AI.
• Strong experience architecting large-scale data/AI solutions in regulated environments.
• Experience deploying Gen AI and LLM applications in production.
• Desirable pharma/biotech industry experience in R&D.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the data engineering, AI, and Gen AI strategy for R&D.
• Lead design, development, and deployment of scalable data/AI foundations for multiple data types.
• Oversee AI/Gen AI use cases from ideation to deployment and lifecycle management.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and auditability across AI initiatives.
• Build and mentor a high-performing data/AI engineering team.
• Collaborate with IT, Data Platform, and external partners to deliver data products.
