Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Data and AI Engineering to define and execute the data and AI strategy across the entire R&D value chain.

You will lead a high-performing team of data engineers and AI specialists, driving scalable data foundations and Gen AI initiatives in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. Qualifications

• Expertise in real-world data assets and using them to generate scientific evidence and guide operational effectiveness.
• Deep expertise across data engineering, Gen AI, AI/ML techniques and experience in architecting and delivering AI/ML use cases.
• Strong team leadership, internal and cross-functional collaboration, project management skills with a focus on delivering impactful initiatives.
• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in data engineering, AI/ML, and Gen AI with at least 5 years in senior technical leadership or management roles.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic vision and roadmap for data engineering, AI, and Gen AI within R&D.
• Lead design, development, and deployment of scalable data pipelines and AI applications for R&D needs.
• Oversee AI/Gen AI use cases from ideation to production deployment with lifecycle management.
• Champion engineering best practices and governance for data and AI across the portfolio.
• Build and mentor a high-performing data/AI engineering team and manage budgets and timelines.
