Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a senior leader for its Controls Engineering function in Austin, TX. You will own the full lifecycle of controls and automation strategy across PLC, SCADA, MES, ERP, WMS, and QMS, driving standards and integration with partners to deliver reliable line performance.

You will build and lead a multi-disciplinary team of controls, automation, and SCADA engineers, ensuring safety, uptime, and data-driven production improvements across pilot to high-volume operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automation; 10+ years in controls/automation.
• 5+ years in a leadership role building multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience deploying control systems from pilot to high-volume production.
• Hands-on production environment experience with automated systems.
• PLC programming and architecture expertise (Siemens/Rockwell).
• Experience with SCADA/HMI design and management (Ignition/FactoryTalk/WinCC).
• Knowledge of MES/ERP/WMS/QMS integration and OT networking.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement global PLC architecture and controls standards.
• Own SCADA/HMI strategy and real-time line visibility.
• Lead automation integration across assembly cells with vendors.
• Design safety, compliance, and maintenance programs for all systems.
• Architect MES integration bridging shop floor to enterprise systems.
• Own line deployment, commissioning, ramp, and production readiness.
• Build and lead a multi-disciplinary controls team for ongoing operations.
