Job summary

Riot Platforms, Inc. is seeking a Director of Controls to build and manage a controls process across projects, establishing standards, tools and processes for cost, schedule, change management and risk.

This role is both a builder and manager, creating a repeatable system and leading onsite control managers who execute it. You will design a WBS-based framework, oversee change control, implement risk and cost tracking, and drive budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting for executives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in project controls on large capital construction projects
• Bachelor's degree required
• Experience leading a controls function or system
• Owner-side or owner’s-rep experience on data center, mission-critical, power, or heavy industrial projects

Responsibilities

• Build our construction controls framework organized around a standard WBS and cost coding
• Design and lead the change management process end to end: submissions, reviews, approvals, budgeting and forecasts
• Create a risk management process that identifies and tracks project risks and ties contingency to them
• Work with Procurement to set up PO and commitment tracking
• Lead budgeting, cost forecasting and monthly reporting, including an executive dashboard
• Set scheduling standards and manage critical path and long-lead equipment
• Select and implement controls tools connected to finance and project management systems
• Build and lead the controls team and set standards for third-party schedulers and cost managers
