Head of Compliance- Real estate

About the Role:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Head of Compliance to oversee compliance across our real estate, property management, and construction operations. This role ensures the company adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to building ownership, development, and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across real estate, construction, and property management (including HPD, DOB, OSHA, and Local Laws).

• Track and manage insurance policies and claims for multiple entities and construction projects; liaise with brokers and carriers.

• Identify and resolve building violations and job site compliance issues, ensuring timely remediation and documentation.

• Oversee regulatory filings for permits, inspections, and safety compliance.

• Maintain systems for risk tracking, compliance documentation, and deadline monitoring.

• Collaborate with legal, development, operations, and site teams to ensure consistent compliance practices.

• Conduct internal audits and job site reviews to identify and mitigate risk.

• Monitor regulatory changes in real estate and construction and update company practices accordingly.

Must Haves:

• 5+ years of experience in compliance or risk management within real estate, construction, or property management.

• Strong working knowledge of NYC regulations, including DOB, HPD, OSHA, and Local Laws.

• Experience managing insurance, building violations, and construction-related filings.

• Extremely organized and detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
