Job summary

REBUILD.US, a national disaster survivors organization, is seeking a Communications Director to join our senior leadership and drive our communications, brand narrative, and rapid-response strategy to advance our climate and democracy goals.

You will lead a diverse team across digital, media relations, design, and influencer work, shaping audience targeting, testing strategies, and measuring impact to align editorial output with our theory of change.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in senior communications or narrative strategy roles.
• Experience leading multi-discipline teams.
• Proven ability to shift public attitudes through storytelling.
• Strong writing and editing with a distinctive voice.
• Experience in disaster or climate-focused communications a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic communications aligned with organizational priorities.
• Lead rapid-response climate disaster messaging and blue-sky campaigns.
• Oversee content lifecycle from strategy to production.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to amplify impact.
