Job summary

Wake Forest University Pre-College Programs seeks a Director of Communications to lead strategic communications for the Educating Character Initiative. The role drives engagement, storytelling, and resource dissemination across multiple platforms and audiences.

You will partner with the Executive Director and PLC, manage digital channels, and oversee content creation for newsletters, social media, and reports while coordinating with university Marketing to ensure cohesive messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with relevant communications experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proofreading accuracy.
• Ability to lead messaging for a complex, evolving initiative.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements a strategic communications vision for the Educating Character Initiative.
• Oversees storytelling about faculty, staff, events, and impact.
• Writes, designs, and distributes newsletters, articles, and social media content.
• Maintains ECI websites and event portals with up-to-date information.
• Collaborates with Marketing and Communications for coordinated messaging.
