About Corgi
Corgi is a growing international insurance group using technology and insurance expertise to develop products and serve customers across multiple markets and lines of business. As our businesses expand, we’re looking for an experienced communications leader to help explain what we do, connect our employees to our priorities, and communicate clearly with external audiences.
About the role
The Head of Communications will develop and lead Corgi’s communications strategy, advise senior leadership, and take a hands‑on role in execution. This person will own corporate messaging, media relations, internal communications, and communications around sensitive or rapidly evolving issues.
We’re looking for someone who can translate complex insurance and technology topics into clear, accurate, accessible language. You should bring strong editorial judgment, experience advising executives, and an understanding of the care required when communicating in a regulated business.
You will work closely with the CEO, COO, Chief of Staff, Chief External Affairs Officer & Deputy General Counsel, and colleagues across Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and our operating businesses.
What you’ll do
- Set communications strategy. Build and execute a communications plan that supports Corgi’s business priorities, international growth, and employee engagement.
- Lead corporate messaging. Develop clear, consistent messaging about Corgi’s businesses, insurance products, technology, and approach to serving customers and partners.
- Advise leadership. Provide practical communications counsel to senior executives and prepare them for interviews, speaking engagements, company announcements, and sensitive conversations.
- Own media relations. Build productive relationships with journalists, evaluate opportunities, coordinate responses to inquiries, and develop accurate, timely materials.
- Lead communications on sensitive issues. Develop response plans and guide communications during significant developments or periods of uncertainty, working closely with leadership, Legal, and Compliance.
- Strengthen internal communications. Help employees understand company priorities, business developments, and organizational changes through clear, useful communications.
- Build effective processes. Establish practical review and approval workflows with clear ownership. Maintain a central repository of approved messaging, questions and answers, and prior external responses.
- Work across the business. Partner with insurance, product, technology, and other teams to identify developments worth sharing and ensure communications reflect the underlying facts.
- Measure effectiveness. Assess whether communications are reaching the right audiences and improving understanding, and adjust the approach accordingly.
What you’ll bring
- Significant experience leading corporate communications, including responsibility for strategy, media relations, executive counsel, and internal communications.
- Demonstrated experience guiding organizations through high‑stakes, sensitive, or rapidly evolving situations, including developing response plans and advising leaders under pressure.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry, with an appreciation for accuracy, confidentiality, and appropriate review.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to explain complex products, business models, and technology to different audiences.
- Sound judgment about when and how to communicate, what requires further verification, and when to involve relevant colleagues.
- The confidence to offer candid, constructive advice to senior leadership and the flexibility to work collaboratively across functions.
- A hands‑on approach: you are comfortable setting strategy and personally drafting an announcement, preparing an executive, or responding to a media inquiry.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a growing business.
- Experience supporting an international organization and communicating about AI or other emerging technologies would be valuable.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $200,000–$300,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and work location.
- Equity and performance‑based compensation: As applicable to the role.
- Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k) retirement plan.
