Job description

About Corgi

Corgi is a full-stack insurance carrier building better, faster insurance products for startups. We underwrite and issue policies directly, with fewer handoffs and less friction. Cutting out intermediaries lets us tailor coverage to how companies actually operate and price risk more efficiently.

We form and operate insurance companies from the ground up, using AI and software to automate the workflows traditionally handled by large teams of brokers, underwriters, TPAs, accountants, and operations staff. Our goal is not to incrementally improve insurance, it is to rebuild the industry infrastructure itself.

We move quickly, care deeply about talent density, and hire people who want to solve difficult problems with unusually high ownership.

The Role

We're hiring a Strategic Finance Associate to help build and scale finance at Corgi. This is not a traditional FP&A role where you update spreadsheets and sit in meetings all day. You'll work directly with leadership on the financial and operational questions that matter most, from forecasting and company planning to underwriting performance, growth investments, and strategic decision-making.

You should be excited to dive into messy problems, learn quickly, and use finance as a tool to drive decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, highly curious, and wants exposure to company-building.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and planning tools.
  • Support company budgeting and long-range planning.
  • Analyze business performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with insurance, operations, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and new business opportunities.
  • Create reporting and analyses that help leadership make better decisions.
  • Improve financial processes, systems, and data visibility as we scale.
  • Assist…
What We're Looking For
  • 1-4 years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, private equity, FP&A, or similarly analytical roles.
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel / spreadsheet skills.
  • Analytical and comfortable working with data.
  • High attention to detail and strong judgment.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and figuring things out independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas simply.
  • Curious, low-ego, and excited to learn.
  • Experience with SQL, BI tools, or insurance is a plus, but not required.
You Might Be a Fit if You…
  • Enjoy solving hard, open-ended problems.
  • Prefer building over maintaining.
  • Want broad exposure rather than a narrowly defined finance role.
  • Like working in a fast-moving environment with high ownership.
  • Are excited by the idea of helping build finance from the ground up.
Why Join Corgi
  • High ownership and direct exposure to leadership.
  • Opportunity to help shape a rapidly growing company.
  • Smart, ambitious, and deeply curious team.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • A chance to help reinvent insurance.
